Recognized & Trusted Name in Real Estate; Relying on my ever growing knowledge of the real estate market, I author the real estate column, At Home with Marlo, in the Nelson County Life and received the 2006 Real Estate III Service Award, as well as the Circle of Excellence Award. Local Roots; I grew up in Nelson, and am a family business partner in Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery of Nellysford. Truly being familiar with the area allows me to better customize your home search and knowing the locals allows me to better market your home. Established Community Presence; Being a former Nelson graduate, and now mom to a Rockfish Elementary Student, gives me a first hand perspective of our schools, as well as other community and family resources. Agricultural Background; Having received both a BS and MS in Crop & Soil Environmental Science at Virginia Tech, and formerly serving as Executive Director of the Virginia Soybean Association, provides me with the core skills needed to best market agricultural estates, farms, and land. Corporate Work Experience; As an Operations Manager and Recruiter at a Fortune 500 Company, Capital One Financial, I learned negotiation tactics and the art of “closing a deal” which are fundamental in managing a real estate transaction from beginning to end. These key skills enable me to guide your real estate transaction…be it an agricultural property, personal residence, vacation home, or an investment property.
